Public Chi's Notes on LibreChat What is LibreChat URI ITS is currently running a pilot program to allow selected participants to use LibreChat. LibreChat is a frontend interface which allows people to select and use a number of LLMs (e.g. ChatGPT, Claude, etc.).  This is done at a much lower cost to URI/ITS than the commercial licenses ($25/mo+) available to the general public. Participants are generally free to use LibreChat for any purpose. There is no scheduled end date for the pilot, and it will at least run through Jan 2026. No data is used for training, etc.  Like a URI email account, ITS staff are prohibited from accessing the contents of anyone's messages, except in case of an extreme emergency, possible serious crime, or legal requirement. Do not put any sensitive information into LibreChat, such as usernames, passwords, social security numbers, etc.  Data which would be classified as PHI / HIPAA / CUI / FERPA absolutely cannot be entered.
